ECONOMY OF THE FUTURE
Automation is speeding up. Web 3.0 is upon us. But our lawmakers are confused about the basic functionality of the internet. How do you secure our digital infrastructure or create an effective jobs training program with no knowledge of computer programming or high-tech manufacturing? The answer is: you don’t.
The regulatory framework underpinning our economy is creaking badly. Incredible opportunities to decentralize finance are actively shunned by a Congress that doesn’t understand the technology and is beholden to big banks. Big Tech is stifling competition—driving up prices and invading our privacy. Organized labor is undercut and devalued while becoming ever more essential.
I’m committed to building an economy that works for everyone through embracing new technologies and new ways of thinking. New technologies in the workplace can and should mean higher wages, more interesting jobs, and more time for leisure. I will fight for stronger unions to ensure that the rewards of increased productivity benefit workers. And I will act to limit the monopolizing of big firms trying to rig our economy. There are amazing efficiencies just waiting to be implemented by a Congress that understands how things actually work. It’s time to send in the engineers.
